Bamboo, Green - Free images on PixabayWhy we choose blue green red orange is because it relates to the tool kit.
And why we wanted to do it with bamboo is because we wanted to make it look natural. it was hard trying to put the string on on the bamboo then it just keep falling out the bamboo we had to do lots of thing just to get the string on the bamboo
Manu taratahi means both kite and bird.

There once was a whaea ika who had Tokowhitu tamariki . One day in the awa o te waikato , the little ika wanted to takaro in the awa. But the whaea ika ka whakatupato ia ratou not to go out of there whare current or they will be diner for a kairanga ika. The pepe ika did not listen to their whaea so they did it .   As they were playing takaro they got caught by the kairanga ika net they were struggling to get out. Tawhiri matea  heard their cries and throw one by one of them to into the night sky. The mother of the tokowhitu lost ika got mad at what they had done.
